Perfectly positioned across the road from the beautiful Coolum beach sits Heirloom Wholefoods. What better way to finish off a morning surf or swim than popping over to the friendly team at Heirloom for a beautiful coffee and fresh salad. Or if you are like us, we cant get enough of their Roti … so good.

We spoke to Jason one of the legends behind Heirloom Wholefoods who alongside Andy have been serving the locals of Coolum for the past two years.

How long has Heirloom been operating?

2 Years now. Its been going really well. Great spot, right next to the beach, great staff and also great customers.

When you aren’t serving delicious coffees at Heirloom, what do you like to do? 

Go for a surf, fishing and spending time with my lovely wife and my dogs.

What do you love most about the Coolum Community?

The community has been great since the beginning, super friendly and also very supportive.

You started the business 2 years ago, so right when Covid hit, how did you manage through that?

It was not ideal but it gave us a chance to adapt, and we are still here so Happy Days!!!

What do you find is the most popular coffee drink at Heirloom nowadays?

Coming into summer, i find that the Iced Oat Latte is really popular. It used to be almond milk, but now people who had Almond before most of them have switched to oat milk.

What is your go to coffee and thoughts on sugar?

Mine is simply a small double shot flat white on full cream, and no no sugar in my coffee. Only back when i was 16

Whats your thoughts on the Sunshine Coast Coffee scene, and what do you see in the future for Heirloom?

It’s good to see the variety in the coffee industry now, and people are moving to the small batch roasters and local specialty coffee roasters. For my business, i hope that it keeps doing what it has been doing for the past 2 years. Maybe open another branch, who knows! Watch out Noosa :)
